Long Islanders are generally more educated than NYCers

The Number

41% of Long Islanders have a bachelor’s degree or higher

As a region, we are well educated.

Among residents 25 and over, only nine percent have do not possess a high school diploma, which is half of New York City’s 18 percent.

But if we break out Long Island into Nassau and Suffolk counties, the picture changes a little.
