Long Islanders are generally more educated than NYCers

41% of Long Islanders have a bachelor’s degree or higher
As a region, we are well educated.
Among residents 25 and over, only nine percent have do not possess a high school diploma, which is half of New York City’s 18 percent.
But if we break out Long Island into Nassau and Suffolk counties, the picture changes a little.
Nassau County is outperforming Suffolk County in pursuing higher education.
